Rent (and general) advice needed....The camels back has now snapped.

Evening all,
Having a really rubbishy day! Totally stressed out. Not sure if I am posting in the correct forum, but thought since I already had a thread start I would just continue. I have racked my brains no end thinking how I can come up with £200-£300 by a week Monday for my overdue rent, and I'm stuck. You would think that flat sharing with your landlord would be easier, but it's not, there's a massive strain between us just now, as he obviously relies on the rent money. He has been brilliant, by giving me an extension on nearly a month.
I feel so guilty and ashamed of myself that I under budgeted and screwed up this month, by not taking care of the priority bills first, made a real mess of things. On the plus side I have my phone call with the debt adviser tomorrow, looking forward to that and going through everything with them.
So if anyone has any suggestions at all of how I can raise the cash in such a short period of time, I'd be grateful for your ideas....I'll consider most things except selling my soul
I looked at what things I have to sell, and its very little, anything I had of any value has been sold long ago. I don't have jewelry as never wear it.
Oh and to top everything off, the job I had set my heart on, had 2 x interviews for, that seemed almost certain of getting it, got a letter in the post today to say that the position has been withdrawn due to funding!!
Where the hell is this miracle lurking when I need it most. 11th of the month and payday seems a lifetime away.
Pfffft.....Sigh!!! If the £ coins jar hadn't of been raided long ago, then there would of been some pennies for a bottle of wine and a take away.... good to dream though eh?!
Hope you are all having a lovely evening.
Don. x0 -
Hello,
Wanted to see how you're doing? I'm sorry that your job was withdrawn, I just really hope something even better is just around the corner for you, keep your eyes peeled! Scour job adverts and see if anything comes up that you might be interested in.
I don't have any miracle solutions to making quick money I'm afraid. Not any legal ones anyway ;-) Do you have any musical talents? Could you busk?! What about bar work a couple of evenings a week?

Made a small start, now it's time to really tackle this debt!0 -
Hi Don! Well done for taking the first step. I have nothing more to add, but wanted to say I was in your position a year ago and ever since the first contact with Stepchange I felt positive! Everything has been going really well for me and ALL of my creditors (10, yes 10 of them were payday loans - 10!! REALLY!?) froze the interest!!! The first month was the worse, but once I gained confidence after speaking to Stepchange I was ready to tackle them if/when they called me! Believe me it will get better. :jLBM March 2013 DFD August 2016

When people talked about an SOA, this is what they are referring to:
http://www.stoozing.com/calculator/soa.php
You haven't listed any APRs on your debts in your posts so far, or the amount you pay each month on each, and there isn't a budget to see your expenses. You may be paying too much for something but not realise, and simply rearranging it could free up some cash.
Have a go at filling in the form you find at the end of the link above and post it back here.0 -
Hi LFC. I notice that your original SOA doesn't include anything regarding the degrees you are studying for. I know for personal experience this can be expensive but worth it in the end.
Have you spoken with the finance department of the college/university you are studying with to see if they have any hardship funds available? I did this when I was studying part time, it turns out very few people contact them about additional sources of funding, and they cut me a cheque for £500 there and then which I was able to cash straight away at their branch of BoS. It might be worth a shot.0 -
Did you go to the bank and tell them you need the money for rent and food? You need to claim it back under the right of appropriation.
In terms of getting 300 there is no easy fix. Can you do an evening job/saturday job in a bar somewhere and try and get an advance on your wages?
Hope you've sorted things out by now.
