I put in a claim with Marbles credit card and received the standard correspondence stating it would dealt with within the given time frame. Latest correspondence states that the are so overwhelmed, they are suggesting it could take another 8 weeks to process.
What would you suggest best way forward?
Is this just delaying tactics?
I'd be happy to hear from anyone about this.

If you take your complaint to the ombudsman (your only other option), the referral will take around eighteen months. Given the choice, I'd prefer to wait the extra eight weeks.
There is no advantage to "delaying tactics", they really must be swamped.0 -
Ok Thanks, I guessed that would be the case. I have another put through to Ombusdman following a rejection and was advised it will be around 18 months. I'm working through a number of them and some are a bit of a nightmare with brokers gone bust, lenders no longer trading and others like GE Money "not my fault guv, I didn't sell it to you" excuses.0

All mis-selling complaints have to go to the seller. I'm no GE Money apologist, but if they didn't sell it to you then they really don't have any liability for mis-selling.0

That isnt an excuse. If they didnt sell it then they are not liable for the sale. The seller is.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). whats the point of giving them time frames
Given the choice, I'd prefer to wait the extra eight weeks if it were me.
Time frames are provided so that the complainant has some idea when to start chasing but, as long as you have been kept updated of the delay, I can't see anything else you can do other than allow them the extra time.0
