I have a pre payment gas meter which I only top up as it's getting low, Iv had my statement through which says I'm £79 in credit, I have rang and when they have dug into it they said it's actually £177 in credit but need someone to check into this as I shouldn't be able to get into credit, anyone know about it or had this happen ?

If your in credit perhaps you might want to think about getting a credit meter installed.

Credit meter is where you pay when you get a bill, ie it's a form of credit as you pay after you've used the energy.

In theory a prepay meter should never be in credit as you pay for what you use, any extra is paid towards any debt.

You need to ask how it got in credit and if it is in credit then ask for a refund.
