PCN even though permit displayed (but date faded)

I got a parking ticket today in a car park that I have a pass for.
I have parked here for 3 years.
The permit is even in a 'tax disc holder'
Over that time the expiry date has faded (which I was unaware).
Today I got a ticket.
In the photos they have, you can still just make out '15' in the year.
I have gone over the date in pen today to ensure I don't get another tomorrow.
However I want to appeal this, I have no intention of paying as I am allowed to park there.
Is there any advice anyone can give for this situation?
I've included the most important picture. You can see that here http://i.imgur.com/NRS0Te1.jpg

just read the NEWBIES sticky thread you missed at the top of this forum0

Thanks for that.
I wondered if there was something odd with the whole 'faded' expiry side of things that may shortcut the process.
Will stick to the appeals instructions set out in the sticky.

It would be another point of appeal, but there's no real way of shortening the process.
You could also talk to who ever issued you with the permit to see if they can get the PCN cancelled.0 -
I would approach the permit issuer. Show them the photo and suggest that the PPC are implying you have used a blank permit that would mean that the issuers have been acting improperly. They would not want to have that levelled at them, would they?
Ask for a letter/email from the issuer confirming the date of expiry of the permit from their records. It is a great shame that you have re-inked in the date as the issuer would have been able to confirm that the original, although faded, was valid. Appreciate you needed to avoid another ticket, but bad move.
Do this in parallel with the advice given above.0
