This is not also lets pay rip off merchants who flout the law, lie about their losses and try to issue fines when not entitled to them site either! These rules are put in place to make money only, that is why parking companies PAY to go into airports, it's a cash cow! And nothing to do with safety, that is handled by the authorities only! When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

So those of us who obey the restrictions put in place for our/your safety should not have to pay the consequences of willfully ignoring those signs.
ANARCHY RULES or you broke the rules PAY UP.
This is a money saving site not a "I broke the rules put in place for safety reasons " help me to find a loophole!!!site
So when your car stalls on an airport road for 10 seconds approaching the car park presumably you will quite happily pay one of these trumped up charges!0 -

Luckily not everyone shares your blinkered views.
POPLA see these for what they are; whether issued by VCS or APCOA or whoever, there is NO LOSS so no money is recoverable and only an idiot would pay:

Even MPs can sometimes see this sort of cash cow for what it is:

Clearly sending a fake PCN in the post weeks later is NOT going to be a safety provision! You really have swallowed as fact, the idea that these fake parking tickets are anything to do with security. Think about it...how would this ticketing regime have helped to prevent the Glasgow situation then?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Well done! Can you copy the POPLA decision into the 'POPLA decisions' thread if you haven't already please?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes, please read the Newbies thread, and then start your own thread. Hijacking threads is frowned upon here!Je suis Charlie.0

apart from the last post that was totally correct, one of my thoughts was that it isnt a "fine", its a parking charge invoice, a pcn , from a private parking company
it cannot be a fine because only a judge or court of law can fine you and this is from neither
please read the NEWBIES sticky thread and start your own NEW THREAD if you need more help on this0 -
My thoughts are the same as before: read the Newbies thread and start your own thread! Repeating yourself on the same hijacked thread is NOT starting your own thread!Je suis Charlie.0

I have just received a fine from UK parking patrol as I dropped my daughter off at the barrier outside the Doubletree Hotel at Newcastle airport where she was staying that night. I rang the hotel and they said I could appeal with the hotel booking reservation number but they could not say if I would be successful. Problem is that if I am not successful then I may have to pay £100 instead of £60 as the 14 days will have passed. Any thoughts?
You are on someone else's thread about their own case here, and you need instead to read the top thread on the whole parking forum, on page one. The 'home' page (one) of the forum is always one hop back - one click on the breadcrumb trail (little blue linky above). My signature tells you where to click in case you can't see the words up the top. Click on the little breadcrumb trail link now and the first page will be revealed, with all todays answered threads.
Then read the NEWBIES thread. PLEASE just read the top thread, it's why it's there to stop endless 'I have got a private parking ticket - heeelllllppp!!' threads as we can't cope with those and almost none need a new thread.
Here is what newbies can do once armed with the templates in the top thread:

So can you. You are not going to PAY anything!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi Bazster, thank you for your reply "Hijacking threads is frowned upon here!" I'm sorry, I just thought I was continuing on the same thread - I didn't realise I was doing anything wrong.
Eh....?
You clearly agreed that you had read and understood the basics of board use as part of your signup - and that included an explanation of what hijacking is and why its frowned upon.0
