hi
my husband is on ESA support group income related, he has been looking to go back to some form of work for a while and has applied for numerous jobs and today he got an interview and a job offer.
the job is in a call centre on zero hours contract on minimum wage £6.50, but said they offer minimum of 8 hours a week work.
husband explained his situation as above and said he cannot do more than 16 hours a week..company were happy with this.
my questions are
we have phoned jobcentre plus and they are sending the pw1 form but advisor knew very little about the permitted work scheme can someone give us any advice please as hubby would really like to give it a go in the hope of getting full time employment someday soon and getting off benefits completely..but he still has to attend hospital for further ops at the moment.
and also is the permitted work only for 52 weeks?
hope all this has made sense
thanks in advance...

Have a read of this as regards Permitted Work.

If you are in the support group you are not restricted to 52 weeks.
You must do less than 16 hours and not earn more than 15 x national minimum wage.
And you have to fill in a form (which you have!)0
