Zero hours

Hello
I am a newbie, and I am not sure where to post this, please move if this is in the wrong place, thank you.
I have worked zero hours for over 18 months, my manager has told me that my hours are reducing to around 9 per week as they can't afford to pay me more.
Another member of staff has let slip that they are taking on an apprentice, for 37 hpw, and of course, they only get paid £100 pw.
Am I right in thinking that there is nothing I can do? I don't get real rights, e.g. no sick pay, no holiday pay, told when to take holidays so that I can cover for everyone else. I signed a contract when I started which basically states I can't work anywhere else as I am on-call.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

You should get holiday pay for all the hours you work.
A proper Zero hours should allow you to work elsewhere and pick which work you are offered not be at the beck and call of the employer.

Hello Getmore4less
Thank you - this is what my OH thinks. I had better get back on the job-searching wagon again....
