Dodgy Amazon Marketplace seller

I got a maternity chair as a gift through a wish list on the Amazon website - apparently supplied through a third party.

When it arrived we didn't open it immediately as we wanted to finish the nursery first. We opened it and discovered that the base was broken - significant crack, one of the cushions was stained and one of the other wooden pieces doesn't fit.

We've contacted the sellers to request a replacement or refund but they are insisting that we have to return the whole box to them at our own expense in order for them to issue a replacement and they've ignored all mentions we have made about getting a refund.

Do we have any rights to insist on them paying for a courier or providing a refund?
