Mesh over air bricks

Hi all,
To prevent mice getting under the house, I've been advised to cover the air bricks with mesh. Does anyone know if I can use these:

both from the point of view of building regs and whether mice can chew through them?
If not, what's a better option?
Thanks!

they're plastic so i doubt they would hold back a determined mouse for long.
I have previously used something like chicken wire (but obviously with smaller gaps) screwed around the air bricks.0 -

I glued mesh over one of my vents a few years ago when i saw wasps going in & out of there. First i sprayed with stuff to hopefully kill them off.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Wire mesh is fine, just make sure it is fine.
I used to keep birds, mice, young ones (but they soon grow), can get through 1" x 1/2" weldmesh, they squash down flat and shimy through.
Miniumum of 1/2" x 1/2" is required to stop them.
As said, forget plastic, they love it;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
