Wickes Takeaway Kitchen

Hello,
We have recently bought a new house which is in a bit of a state internally. The main issue is the kitchen which is literally falling apart. We were going to have a custom made kitchen designed by John Lewis but the total process takes three months and we would need to wait until after we had some other works done before the designer would come to see me.
Due to the urgency, we are looking at flat-pack kitchens. I know people who have had bad experiences with Homebase and B&Q so want to avoid those brands. We have looked at Ikea and were happy at the design and function-ability but not the actual ascetics. I've seen some relatively positive reviews on Wickes flatpack kitchens. Our plan would be to purchase the cabinets and units from Wicks and have a stone worktop fitted. Has anybody got any advice on the quality of their flatpack kitchens and their design service for flatpacks?
Many thanks

There's a huge difference between John Lewis and a Wickes flat pack.
The trade suppliers like Howdens and Magnet Trade will provide kitchen within a few days. The quality is higher. I would only buy a flatpack kitchen if my budget were on the floor. The doors just don't seem to hang straight after a while. If you can afford stone worktops then you can afford a better kitchen and there are options available to you other than flat pack.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

However....
Kitchens are the last thing in a list of work, what needs doing around it? Electrics, windows, plastering?
You need to get the basics done first, even if the kitchen is your priority if you want it to be of any lasting quality.
You could buy a temporary kitchen from ebay until you're ready.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I'm sure people have different standards and a different eye for things, but we had a Homebase kitchen fitted (not using their fitters though!) a year ago and we love it. Seems good enough quality to me. We got solid surface worktops as my wife runs a baking business from home and these are non porous and wont stain. We researched prices online and they price matched, after sales service was good. And 12 months interest free too.
Their fitting was silly money though. We found our own who was brilliant, a real craftsman, and has subsequently done our bathroom. (Bathstore not Homebase.)
Not sure what your budget is, but it's not always a nightmare from highstreet places.0
