Euro car parks threats

I received this in the mail recently:

(sorry about the size)
The story:
We'd gone shopping to an unnamed supermarket and parked in a place designated for 'high vehicles' (our car being a normal one). When we came back we found a note from ECP.
There was a blue X under our car but no sign stating that parking was forbidden and I couldn't see anything in the surroundings to support it.
After reading up on this forum we ignored this and have never made contact to ECP.
Now my question is if they have anything to stand on?
And what can I expect in the coming months from this philanthropist company?

I'd be surprised if the advice of this site is to ignore these still. Nearly all, in fact all consumer sites I know of (possibly bar this one????) say appeal the ticket and ask for a POPLA code, then appeal to POPLA using one of the many templated letters around, adapted for your own circumstances, but always having a main focus on the genuine pre-estimate of loss.If you want proper advice, please consult a legal professional. I am not one! Thanks.0

You obviously read the wrong forums or from another time warp.
But these lot are nothing to worry aboutProud to be a member of the Anti Enforcement Hobbyist Gang.:D:T0 -
If the un-named supermarket is Sainsbury's write a stinking letter to the CEO complaining about them getting these cowboys to harass their customers.
As for ECP, continue to ignore, nothing will happen beyond a few letters.Je suis Charlie.0 -
I see control account have stopped signing their letters with an imaginary legal executives name!
Nice to see a bit of complaining seems to get results!
Still like them to explain how they will take court action.0 -
The statement that "We have firm instructions to start legal proceedings" is what is technically know as a "lie". It's a matter for trading standards methinks.Je suis Charlie.0

Please elaborate on that?
The law changed back in 2012 - Ignoring has not been advised for a long time now in England and Wales.
However, you are lucky that your letter is from one of the charlatans that are still not likely to do court with serious regularity.
Others who have neglected the current info about other PPCs are not so lucky.0 -
That letter is a joke. They say they credit management company, so why are they writing to you, did you open a credit account with euro car parks? They say they have been recruited by euro, are they now employees of euro?
How do you apply for a county court judgement? In their imaginary world it appears that they don't first have to win at county court, and you don't pay the judgement within 28 days. They just go there and automatically win!
The last point, how can they take anyone to court? They are not solicitors, and not a law firm, so being a third party without any authority. Do they act for this unnamed supermarket ?When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Hello ECP (they will be reading these posts):hello:
I had my appeal 'dropped' by ECP AFTER i'd appealed directly to them through their appeals procedure, and they knocked me back.
I then appealed by the POPLA route and ECP 'chickened out' of taking it further. The case was dropped. NO money/fine paid by me but, those muppets had to pay POPLA when i requested a POPLA Code (apparently it cost THEM approx £30 to get you a code).:rotfl:
You could also try to find out the 'rateable' value of the car park. If it's "free" to park for a period of time, try to find out if they've got the car park "zero rated" with the council.
That could scare them off to!!
There's lots of information on these boards and other similar boards (listed below) on the internet. Please use them and lets get rid of these parasitic leaches once and for all.
