Birmingham Airport (BHX) APCOA Ticket

Hi can you help me please, I went to pick up my brother from birmingham airport on the 10th march then last week on the 1st April I got a parking fine from APCOA saying I had picked up someone in my car from birmingham airport not in a parking area. There are 3 pictures of my car with the number plate and my brother getting into my car in the letter.
The thing is I picked him up at a roundabout where there was a police car parked at the side of the road with a policemen in the drivers seat.
APCOA have said in there letter iv got to pay £100 in 28 days or 50% half of that if I pay it within the next 14 days.
In the letter there is a web site or phone number where you can pay the fine, I went to pay the £50 on line but when I googled the web site on the letter it's not on google!
Then looking on line, there are loads saying don't pay a fine at birmingham airport.
Can you help please.

anyway , read the newbies sticky thread at the top of this forum , by coupon-mad , tells you everything you need to know about appealing this parking charge (not a fine at all)

its not a police matter as its a private road , so you probably saw a private camera car watching you stop and drop off or pick up passengers , which you are not supposed to do

ps:- only a fool who hasnt read the net advice would pay up !

Thanks for your comment but iv just come onto this website today and was only wanting to know, do I have to pay it as I was on a public road, 2 roundabouts away from the airport.
I wasnt aware of the roads around birmingham airport being private but thanks for your comment.

if its a public road then APCOA have no jurisdiction

but seeing as APCOA sent it then it appears that you were on airport land which is a PRIVATE road and subject to local byelaws , despite what you say

appeal it as a private ticket using the info in that newbies thread as mentioned previously

if you wish to dispute the legality of this ticket, then check with the council regarding the status of that "road" (public or private) - my guess is that its private , otherwise APCOA would not be sending you this pcn , which they do to thousands of other people as can be seen by the numerous threads about that and other airports on here
