How Do I Remove Pet Hair From Carpet

I am moving into a property and the carpet looks clean but I unpacked my new table on the carpet and maybe from the static from the packaging of the new table when I turned the table up I noticed some pet hair on the table so will a professional carpet cleaner remove the hair from the carpet or maybe a powerful vacuum cleaner do the job.

A Dyson Pet Vacum will do the trick...................and you'll get to keep the vacum, rather than get somebody in.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0

I've never used a carpet cleaner but I wouldn't expect them to pick up hairs.
I would suggest going over the carpet with a rubber broom - something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/121174995207?hlpht=true&ops=true&viphx=1&lpid=95&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=95
to bring the hairs to the surface and then vacuum as usual0 -

Completely agree with tizerbelle - carpet cleaners don't tend to pick up hairs that well
I've used both a rented carpet cleaner and a Vax and although they did clean the carpet (judging by the filthy water
), they still left most of the hair on the carpet - not the best smell
. I did invest in a Dyson, which was much better, but still lacking. The best way really is the "old style" way - rubber brush, or even cheaper, a pair of rubber gloves (used in a sweeping/scraping motion on hands and knees on the floor). Great for a cheap workout too!

Carpet cleaners are not meant to lift hair of anything else, they are meant to clean not normal hoover.Using a carpet cleaner on pet hair or anything else could block it.The carpet is mean to be fully clear first...
Anyway,a rubber broom would not only bring the hair to the surface but, most of the time, pick it up too.
Or you could just keep hoovering/use a pet vac.If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

Having both cats and dogs in our house I can recommend the rubber broom / brush

Another one for a damp rubber broom.0

For small areas I used a furminator comb meant for cats / dogs.
I can't post links, just google furminator for more information.
It was time consuming, but very effective (and mildly gross given what came up)0 -

I have a dyson animal which is fine on all the carpets in my house apart from my bedroom carpet. I was going to buy a brush and try brushing then hoovering, but might try a rubber brush instead, as I imagine that would do less damage than a hard brush...0
