Cheap toothpaste vs branded?

Options
My husband has fairly sensitive teeth and insists the only toothpaste he can use that doesn't make his teeth sensitive is Colgate Total. I would like to know if anyone with sensitive teeth can recommend a cheaper toothpaste that they have found effective please?

I tend to buy Colgate when it is 2 for £4 at Tesco - but i think that is a lot for around a months worth of toothpaste. Any suggestions?

Colgate toothpaste is always in 99p & Poundland stores.

Not sure if Total brand is one they do but they always seem to have a wide selection on sale of Colgate branded toothpaste.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    I'm sure I've seen Colgate Sensitive in Poundland....but I don't think it's Total though.

  • I get mine from poundland and get the 125ml tubes. I am slowly stock piling these as they are becoming harder to get.

  • I buy Sainsburys Sensitive, 65p for 100ml. I won't be fooled into paying extortionate prices for branded toothpaste. Sainsburys is just as good but much cheaper.

Poundland sometimes sell Colgate Total but it's not the U.K. market version.

I've given up on cheap toothpaste, I used to buy Lidl's and it was OK, but recently I tried one of Aldi's, a stripey one, didn't taste nice and once mixed the stripes turned into a gray paste, yuk!
Then I tried Asda's, not the value one, the next one up, and it was very watery.
Now I too try to buy branded ones at reduced prices.

I once spent 15 minutes (I kid you not) in Tesco looking at the wall of toothpaste on offer, carefully weighing up the pros and cons of each, until I eventually thought to myself "!!!!!!! It's only Bl00dy toothpaste!". At which point I picked up the cheapest and got on with my life.

    I've never looked back.

Poundland often have 2 (ordinary) Colgates BOGOF.

Thanks all. He wont drop from total to normal Colgate i'm afraid. I was hoping someone as fussy as he is might be able to offer a 'just as good' suggestion.

I bought a 60p Lidl one the other day and must admit my teeth don't feel as clean and i had to brush harder for longer.

I will keep a look out in poundland but i'm hardly ever near a town. perhaps if i see total there i will have to stock up.
