Computer issues, bought on internet, need help with rights please!

Hi my son bought this computer from ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400565546873&ssPageName=ADME:X:eRTM:GB:1123

These are the issues:

1. The 2tb hard drive is not a 2tb it is a 1.7tb
2.The case is a different one than the one on the picture, and differant to the one in the description.
3.The mother board does not give out a display on ether HDMI, DVI and VGA.

I have to run my monitor off of my Graphics Card which will reduce my frame rate on the games i play on this PC.

This is the reply
Good day!

Our refund policy is within 14 days, this is too late to offer a full refund. However we would love to assist you with this matter. If you wish you can send the PC back to use so that we can replace/repair it for you.

As for the the Video, the integrated ports will automatically get disabled as y ou have a dedicated graphics card.

My question is am I entitles to a refund, as surely 14 days does not cover this!

Any help wopuld be appreciated, have posted on techie board too!

As you've had the thing for over two months, it can probably be agreed that you have accepted the goods.

When did you first report these problems to the vendor?

Isn't it the job of a graphics card to supply the digital image to the monitor?
Why do you want the image output via one of the motherboard ports?

By the way, a 2TB disk will only show as approx 1.8TB after formatting.

    That just leaves the case.
Is the supplied case better or worse than the one you were expecting?
Or is it just different from the picture?
Does it match any of the other optional cases the vendor supplies?

Hdd is normal to be reduced after formatting,
Case different, well that would be something to be flagged immediately on delivery.
Ports disabled by external cards is totally normal. Could take the card out, but not sure how you have figured your frame rates would be different.

You wouldn't be able to get a refund. Far too log after the event of purchase...besides, your 'issues' aren't issues to be quite honest..

You can only run the monitor off one source which is the dedicated graphics card, this is normal and wont affect the games performance.

If you want to run the monitor off the motherboard you would need to disable the graphics card but then it wouldn't run your games to.

You are getting confused as to what a dedicated graphics card does, it does it all and disables the motherboards inferior graphics.

What will affect your games performance is the dedicated graphics card, unless we know the model we wont know if it's good enough to run the games you want to play, some graphics cards can't handle todays games unless the settings are turned way down, just having a dedicated card doesn't mean its a good card, you need a good card these days.

As explained the HD is perfectly normal, the system is using the portion you don't see.

Blame the missing hard drive space on robbing hard drive manufacturers that say 1 MB = 1000 bytes not the real 1024 bytes.

Thos 24 bytes add up when drives get large. And as mentioned formatting loses a bit more space.

The different case should have been pulled up with the seller right after opening the box. As should the non functioning video card.

The video card is a budget £20 one. So wont be that great for graphic intensive games.

Looks like a lot of money for the spec. But you should have pulled them up about it much sooner.

I'd be worried if my 1M was only 1000 bytes - it should be nearer 1,000,000 bytes!

    Similarly, a disk maker's 1GB is 1,000,000,000 bytes and not 1,073,741,824, while 1TB is 1,000,000,000,000 bytes and not 1,099,511,627,776.

Those 24's keep multiplying up as the disk sizes get bigger, so it's nearly a 10% difference on a 1TB drive.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
