At that price point, I would say yes. At least for now.
  • If you're looking for a phone with a decent camera, you can use it for apps and all the Google services, as well as text and call, then yes it is a great phone.

If it is also your first time into using a smartphone it is a great first step too.

Just be aware that there won't be much storage available on the 8GB version.

Yes, the Moto G is still by far the best smartphone for the money, even if you buy the 16GB version.
  • Alcatel one touch idol s 4g from EE is a contender, only £110 (inc £10 topup) and 99p unlock.
The only things its lacking is kitkat and a slightly slower processor otherwise its got much better specs than the moto g and much better looking also.

Its certainly worth a look as topcashback and quidco are offering £30 cashback on EE payg phones at the minute.

It's 2 months since you last asked.

If you keep hanging on like this it's bound to be superceded like everything else!

Why not go for it then if something better comes along you can always ebay it.

It's going up in price because they are trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of the old model before it is superseded.
The new Moto G 4G is being released later this month apparently at which point the current Moto G should drop in price.

As I understand it, the only real difference between the versions is that the new version supports 4G and has expandable memory.

4G version coming out at the end of the month with microSD slot as well I believe. Only 8GB onboard memory but with 16GB possible additional through SD slot.
School is important, but Rugby is importanter.

Don't forget about the EE Kestrel as a moto g lte alternative - http://www.engadget.com/2014/05/20/ee-kestrel-review if you're on EE and you don't mind a dated interface, it's a tad cheaper.
