Many private rents have these items fitted in the kitchen.
  • There are sometimes specific grants available connected with your locality as well that not everyone knows about. What she wants to do is ring up or drop in the local social services and see the childrens duty worker or the CAB will know as well.
Regarding Freecycle theres a section for wanted items as well and she needs to ask for items she wants and if she says a bit about her circumstances then she may get a good response.
Also there are local buying and selling groups on Facebook for her area, she could ask if anyone has anything going at a really reasonable price.
There will be charity furniture stores in her area, however she will need a referral from a worker. Again the CAB or a duty social worker will be able to help.
  • carpets? markets etc for cheap roll ends, easily fitted in a straight forward room
cookers etc?try the many shops who sell second hand / seconds far cheaper than most places and usually they deliver and fit
