    Thanks for replying. That's very interesting as my council has counted this as "other income".

    They may have put it down as other income but have they actually used it in their assessment for HB?

    They have yes. There is also some disregarded income, they may have put it under there, I'm not sure. i.e. they list it both as income and then disregard it again so it evens out. A bit confusing.

    We usually put it on the claim so that you receive the appropriate premiums for having a dependent child.

    It is disregarded (although not for some councils CTRS) - how much does it say is disregarded income?
    I currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.

    40.7 which I think is split into 10 in a couples premium, and 10.2 in 30 working hours premium, leaving the rest, 20.5 for a CB I guess. It's really hard to work out the calculation unless you go to the applicable law to check the numbers. Most council's do not post this info online.

    That doesn't sound right...

    Couple earnings disregard - £10 pw
    16/30 hr earnings disregard - £17.10 pw


    That would leave £13.60 and that isn't a figure I recognise - do you have any child care costs?
