I have a greenhouse and I use it to grow tomatoes, cucumbers and a few peppers every year. This year I'd like to try something different, but I don't know what, so time to ask the wonderful people of MSE for some ideas.

What do you grow in yours?

Last year was the first year that I have had a greenhouse, I grew 10 tomato plants, too many really I got carried away. One cucumber marketmore and some pansies. Everything grew well but this year I intend to only grow four tomato plants, some peppers, number depending on how many do well in the propagator and a couple of variety of cucumber. So nothing out of the ordinary, last year I did grow some melon outdoor wonder plants under a plastic tunnel and I had five or six decent fruit off of them so maybe that might be an option for your greenhouse.

I'd go for melons or watermelons. The flavour of a melon which has been ripened on the vine and eaten fresh is a completely different experience to the ones you buy in the shops.

In addition to the above I grow chillies and have attempted (unsucessfully) aubergine.

Courgettes to start off in greenhouse then plant out, they also take relativly little looking after.

If you've got the space you could try sweetcorn. You won't get much of it but something different to try.

Chillies as well. Gardeners world are doing 3 tomato plants +3 chilli plants for just the postage at £3.00

    I've ordered mine.

Aubergines - I started mine at the end of Feb in the house so you might be better off buying plants now.

    Chillies

Tender fruits if you have room? peaches, figs?

Last year I did tomatoes, cucumbers and chillies.m

So far T the moment in mine there are potatoes in a bag, peppers, sweet peppers, chillies, tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, carrots and celery. All bar the spuds are starting off down there but having the greenhouse has given me more scope as to what in can try growing in there. The chillies, some of the tomatoes, all of the peppers and some of the cues will stay in there, as will spuds.

I've also got two grapevines which I'm planning on running up the inside of the frame

Wow, thanks for all the idea. Sounds like I better get me some chillies!

Do you all use growbags or mostly pots?

Spuds aside, my growing in the greenhouse is mostly going to be in pots

    Spuds in bags

I just found out tonight that I've now got a 5ft by 1ft area in there to grow carrots as I've run out of space in the garden

In my greenhouse I empty the contents of growbags into pots.
