Hi,

Last month I received a letter in the post regarding an account that was set up in a surname similar to mine and with that letter was a contract in relation to this account,

I phoned up the company and told them to cancel the account and that my details were used to set up a fraudulent account, however, the fraud team were unavailable.

A couple of days later I had received an interesting statement which stated that a Sony Vaio laptop was billed to the account.

Again, the premium rate phone number was of no use and I felt it was necessary to have my bank cards cancelled.

Eventually a member of the fraud team got back to me. Helpful? Nope but aggressive? Most definitely.

I was trying to seek answer how someone could set up an account using my address details and pass a credit check despite having a variation of both my forename and surname. No luck as the fraud team member refused to answer my questions.

The one that really riled me was the accusation that the laptop was sent and received by someone at my residence.

I asked which parcel company delivered the item and under whose name/signature the parcel was accepted by. All I got was a stuck up response.

Now what did very.co.uk do after to ensure I didn't have any more issues? Nowt . . they washed their hands of this incident and ignored all my requests about knowing how they made such a monumental !!!!-up.

Searching the internet, it appears this is not a recent thing with very.co.uk and they continue to lend credit despite a pathetic underwriting process.

I told very.co.uk to file a police complaint against myself since they claimed the parcel was sent to my address but something tells me they won't be doing that as it's blatantly obvious that was never the case but a way to ignore my questions to know more about the incompetence of this company.

I am also aware that very.co.uk has a spokesperson who comments on complaints made on this forum about their company so I hope Lisa or the poor soul who currently deals with valid complaints to counter my accusations and to explain why I or someone within my household was accused of theft of a £1000 laptop?

I have to say that neither of the Chuckle Brothers reside at my address as to make an application in a name similar to mine and have an item sent to my address.

Perhaps the spokesperson can explain why an expensive item was also sent before a completed and signed agreement was returned?

I dunno, kinda makes sent y'know.
