Supersaver.... I agree with you over extra work, but also in my case, I have just been promoted, and as of yet haven't had my new contract etc to sign, so I don't want to come across too militant, in case they change their minds as the even more extra money would be wonderful, after having struggled for 4 years some time back, it will more than put me on an even keel. So I'll tread carefully today, and be good!! just run the staff ragged if they are not doing their job!! but I will prove if need be I am doing mine.

    Daily stuff done
    Floors done
T-7 and counting still got to get OH to clear his 'stuff' up, as I need to make up the beds, and get round here a fold up type bed one of my neighbours is lending me.

Sold 2 items on ebay, plus they are changing their rules yet again, 0.99p listing are to end, instead you get 20 free listings per month, which you can start at any price you like, any listings after that are 0.35p each. (remember they also now take 10% of your postage as well!! and postage went up start of April) I think I may do a couple of large car boots and end it all....................

Thanks kazwookie very wise. I totally agree and I am discretely withdrawing my services or should I say innocently querying how I am to be recompensed prior to putting in the hours.

Thanks for the info re. eBay. That sounds good for me as I only add a few items and weekends aren't the best time so hopefully I will be able to add a few bits during the week now. :)

Ps I know what you mean about car boots and just ending eBay. It's almost not worth the hassle of fleabay anymore.

I've been shopping this afternoon and spent a blinkin' fortune  Some of it was completely unnecessary but cheered me up (see post in the "no buying unnecessary toiletries" thread for details :o) and I have purchased THE most BORING pair of shoes I have ever owned; I needed comfy ones for all the walking we'll do next week but I just couldn't bring myself to buy flats (partly because they were all ugly and also because the last time I wore ballet pumps I ended up with plantar fasciitis which was bloomin' AGONY) so I got wedges in Clark's instead. At least they were in the sale which was the only :money: aspect of my trip out.

Went door-knocking to the houses which overlook our garage just in case anyone had spotted anything, but no one was home; my guess is if they were out today, they probably were yesterday too but I'll print out some little notes and pop them through the doors just in case.

WM on, airer stripped, everywhere vacuumed, kitchen S&Sed, boys politely requested to clear their bedroom floor. They will be bossed in a min.

piggers, I think you are very patient to be trying to help your DD's BF for a second time. I hope he appreciates all your efforts.

So sorry to hear about your DH's job Charlie, I hope there is a new, even better one waiting around the corner for him. Be kind to yourself xx

Time for a quick shower before DH gets home and then onto dinner and all the mess that will entail.

i read your shopping confession Fizz, all i can say is you will look gorgeous so no one will be looking at your shoes.

all ironing done, that was on the pile and ive just bought the washing in so going to do the couple of bits that need ironing off that so basket will at least stay empty overnight

all ironing put away, everyone fed. poured some bleach into a tree stump ive cut down in the hope it wont come back, if it does ill have to cut a slice off again and buy some tree/stump/root killer. ive been told wilkinsons sell it
DH is mending a puncture for DS2 then we are going to go for a walk and have a nose at some facias that are being put up round the corner by the company we are thinking of using.
after that its a cuppa, a few pages of my book then do the pack ups for tomorrow and call it a night.

havent really done anything off todays list so must try harder tomorrow as i have two days worth of flying to do.

I've done some sewing tonight. I hand stitched the "sleeves" onto an old camisole type vest of DDs. Too tired to do more. It's a good start though. The sleeves are actually the legs from a pair of sparkly white party tights :) make do and mend, an all that! I have some fabric for the main part of the dress that I'll attach as a bodice, then we have a shimmery chiffon wrap type thing - half can wrap round to make a fancy skirt and the rest will be the cape / train. :T

My eyes are really tired now...

The garden looks much better. I have bags and bags of rubbish so I'm glad it's bin day tomorrow! Mind you, I have 4 green bags of rubbish too and that's a week away and I still have lots of weeding left! I came in to fold up the washing at one point and went back to find that DS had massively hacked back the lavender and rosemary bushes as well as lopping the top off the bay tree. I wasn't brave enough to tackle any of them without reading about it and he's just charged in! My word do they look better now :).
Got the grass cut, swept the patio and have bought some exterior filler so I can get on with it. My fascias and guttering and down pipes all need replacing as they are falling apart. If I can get enough extras in in the next couple of months, I could try to get them done when we get back from holiday. I suppose I am best to just get a quote first and see where that leaves me.

Have arranged to go to Dyrham park with my Aunty and Uncle on Saturday so we'll make a picnic. I hope the weather is as good as it's been today. My kids (nephew included) haven't been begging to go out as the weather's so nice. They're happily playing outside. The boys were funny this morning, very helpful with the housework and then came into the garden and started weeding and tidying with me whilst DD knuckled down to her homework.
I haven't painted my trotters yet, will do tomorrow as I want to go to bed soon. Will slather loads of body butter on tonight.
I really ought to rejoin the toiletries thread!

Kaz thanks for explaining fleabay's latest changes, I mainly do collection only auctions now, requesting cash where possible.

    Ironing done
I need to wash up and may be do one more piece of paperwork, we have friend coming to dinner on Saturday night so I need to get the table cleared by then and I don't want that to be by simply scooping it into a huge pile!

Rooms of Doom tomorrow ladies so that anybody who is minded to can carry on over the weekend too :)
The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair
  • Friday ~ Rooms of Doom (Only one room left - Study)
    Got an hour...
    Start dealing with the paperwork

    Extras
Swish and Swipe toilets and sinks
    Filing
    Frog eating

Ha Ha the study is my frog so seems it's caught me up. It's not incredibly untidy but I have so many bits of paper I don't need! They need to be sorted to be burnt (can't just be recycled as contain personal details). My sister is storing more in her garage but I told her I need to deal with what I've got first!
  • Evening all.
I just wanted to say a huge huge thank you for your messages. Dh officially has 2 weeks left at work but think tonight will be the last that he works. AF also arrived today so think that might explain being way over emotional.

Absolutely no flying today, I haven't felt like it (I did empty the DW but it was almost empty anyway and really need to reload it as we are about out of pots). Will shake myself tomorrow. Need to make a big start as we have a massive amount we could sell and now is the time to do it.

Haven't managed to read all the thread properly as my head hurts and my eyes sting but I hope everyone is ok and I will be back to flying in the morning xx
