I have to say Gitdog is a good looking boy, and does attract a lot of attention while we're out.
So we're on our evening walk, being stopped by pedestrian number 3 to say hello. And I gaze down at Gitdog who has rolled off the pavement and onto his back in the gutter at the sheer ecstasy of having his belly rubbed by a complete stranger.
And I wonder why on earth I bothered putting up the beware of the dog sign in the porch when he is so clearly going to be the worst guard dog ever.:rotfl:
Edit - also meant to say the retraining of mother and dog is making progress, so fingers crossed his sensible spell continues.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Haha, my girl is exactly the same. First sign of any attention from anyone and she stops, drops and rolls.0

One chap said "you live on xxxxx road - your last one was lethal."
Could have sworn I'd never seen him before, and did wonder in precisely what circumstances he'd got in mind.

Our Trixie frightens other dog walkers because as she sees them coming towards her in the distance she drops to the ground, waiting to present her tummy for fuss. She doesn't move and if they haven't spotted her actually walking they think that they have come across a dead dog!! The better she knows someone, the sooner she keels over - but at least they now expect her to do itStash Busting Challenge waiting for inspiration:D :j0

I have just realised that I haven't actually said that Trixie is our black collie/lab cross!!Stash Busting Challenge waiting for inspiration:D :j0

Maybe you need a sign along these lines....

My dog loves people when he is out and looks almost offended if people don't stop and speak to him and/or stroke him.
However indoors is a different matter and he goes berserk if anyone comes in. I have to put him in his cage until he calms down. It doesn't matter how many times he has met someone he still goes mad if they come into the house. I have no doubt at all if someone broke in he would bite themThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -
You should feel lucky! My dog just ignores everyone on our walks, including me, other people and even cats.
Now he's an old boy people often stop me to ask how old he is, etc and try to make a fuss of him, but the dog pays no attention and just starts walking off. He's got hedges to sniff and bit of left over kebab to try an eat, far too busy to stop and chat!0 -

Mine looks crest fallen if someone ignores him when he's out, but he is a very handsome chap, even if I do say so myself.Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0 -
On seeing the thread title, I had to post about my old dog!
He was so friendly/stupid/idiotic (choose most suitable!), he used to stand at the gate and when he saw the dog warden on his rounds, would open the gate and jump into the passenger seat of the van!
Luckily, it was when it was always the same warden, as with milkman, postman etc and everyone knew him. They would sit and share their lunches with him then put him back in the garden.0 -
I had the opposite problem with first dog, my staffie - people were scared of her - and she loved people! babies in particular. she just looked like a 'hard nut'! but, she was a total softie.
my springer was not interested in people while on her walks - she was more interested in what she could smell - and if it was edible she was entranced! but, she was a pretty girl and people often wanted to stop and stroke her - which she tolerated. The staffie would have loved all that attention - while the springer couldn't have cared less!0
