3G/4G, Wireless or Ethernet Cable ? Smart TV's are only "smart" in the adverts, unless I am mistaken TV makers are in the business of shipping boxes (flat screen), and very rarely give you updates that include the latest apps and the next big thing

Wait and see what chromecast provides or the rumoured amazon box, personally I would go for a Raspberry Pi , at least it is user configurable. A smart TV is ok , for this week/month , but you need to make sure that it has 2 HDMI ports. Next month someone will come up with something different/new. There are a few threads on here re smart tvs , I would hedge your bets, buy a TV with a good picture/sound and good connectevity for ports and perhaps ethernet, + DLNA viewer, you can then convert most stuff to be viewed on your PC
