WANRNING - Barclaycard 5% interest rate increase!!!

MABLE, I am exactly like you. ABBEY/MBNA have risen my APR up to 18.9%, on both my Visa and Mastercard.:mad:
I have paid off my mastercard and won't be using it anymore.
I will do exactly the same thing with my Visa.
That's why I have applied for a barclaycard at 6.8% (for now, will it rise?)
I haven't been applying for cards for the last 4 years, as I had low APRs on those cards (9.9% and 11.9%) and I have a marbles at 12.9%, which will probably rise one of these days.
I will not call them and grovel to have them lower my APR, and I consider that they do not want my custom anymore. I think they are expecting quite a few people to call, and I wonder what really is the reason for it.
Spot the desperate customers who feels cannot apply for another card for one reason or another, so they can at a later date rise their APR even higher than what they thought in the first place?
Obviously if you run a high balance on a credit card, it makes it difficult to find a card that will give you enough credit limit to be able to transfer the lot on the new cards, so I suppose some people are stuck with what they've got, and once they now you are stuck, god help you.........
