sky branded netgear router removed from ebay.. why?

ive just got an email from ebay saying they've removed the auction i set up for an unwanted netgear router that a family member got (and paid for) through sky but then didnt need. it said it was a 'Copyright Violation - Unauthorised Item'
i dont quite understand why the auction was removed and even then, why mine was removed but not the many other exact same sky netgear routers that are still for sale, many of which were on there long before my listing went up last night!
any ideas what's going on here?

Someone probably reported you, the others haven't been reported yet or they're powersellers and ebay are turning a blind eye.0

Ye powersellers tend to get away with more on ebay. Alot of people on here seem to think that people who are selling the same item report the competition so that they can get all the bids (probable) as a buyer wouldnt have reported you as they were searching for this item.
I dont know what you can do short of being spitful and reporting all the other sellers selling the same item (im not suggesting this)Offical MSE Fantasy League Member:beer:0 -
hmm... can i relist and word it differently?
there's lots of other folks selling the same thing and i dont think many (if any) were power sellers... i dont quite get it, if i cant resell this then surely i cant resell anything much unless ive made it myself?
ive emailed ebay and asked lots of questions why.. and also emailed sky to ask why me and not everybody else.. there are lots of sellers who've been happily seling these things on there for a lot longer than mine was up (less than a day for me) and i also looked a few weeks ago to get an idea how much i could sell this for and there were lots out there then too.. very frustrating to find myself singled out...0 -
You got reported.
Someone will be watching you and they'll report you again if you relist.
Sky are very touchy about people selling their stuff (hence the listing being ended)
If you think it's unfair that the others haven't been removed, report them.My TV is broken!

i just checked out how to go about reporting listings and it seems to be not an easy thing.. you have to download some form, fill it in and fax it back to ebay... why did somebody go to all the trouble of doing that with me but not others?
im really not that mean and i dont have the time!0 -
Reporting items is VERY easy, in the listing scroll down the bottom and bottom left you will see "report this item" then you just select the category etc0

its not that easy... the selecting a category bit doesn't quite fit with the item im reporting and then it gives you more categories that fit even less... i give up... good luck to them if they can get away with it!
i dont like sky for being so mean about reselling stuff that i paid for in the first place!0 -
I listed some ADSL filters recently and mentioned sky (where we got them from) and the listing was removed within hours. Seems like Sky are pretty strict on use of their brand name. I would relist but just don't mention Sky, I did this and had no problems the second time.:www: :: MFi3 ::

Just report it using the same as yours was, you wouldve got an email like :
"Subject : eBay Listing Violation: Miscategorization (=LS &13445 JM702862815)
Dear *********,
We appreciate that you chose eBay to list the following auction-style listing(s):"
So the category for that one would be miscategorization (ironically)0
