Car Auction - Misprint on VOSA
Options
Hello,
Looking to possibly buy a car at an auction next week.
In the catalogue on one of the cars it says "possible misprint on VOSA".
Anyone know what this could mean and what consequences this could have if I bought it? The car is priced lower than I would expect so thinking it could be quite bad but just not sure!
Thanks!

My first suspicion would be that it comes up as being a write-off, but there's some confusion about whether it's _really_ this car it applies to. P'raps a plate change has caused confusion.
Usual auction rules - go over it as closely as possible within the time and constraints available, and be VERY prepared to walk away if it "smells" wrong or the bidding goes higher than you want to pay.0 -

Thanks very much! Probably one to be missed but will see if the auctioneers can provide any more specific info for it.

Definitely ask the auctioneers what they mean. Not sure it means "one to be missed". If it's been repaired, it's clearly been done well - and, after all, the difference between a write-off and an unrecorded claim is merely a financial one. If it's not been bent, then there's no problem.
Honestly - if that sort of thing's worrying you that much, I'm not sure an auction's the right place for you to be shopping...What does that mean? Mileage fiddled with?
Yep. It's possible one MOT has a mileage recorded which is out-of-whack with the rest.0 -

Luckily it's not actually me that's after the car - it's a friend I'm going with who has a limited budget and I just don't want him to end up paying for a car that could end up seized or anything. Think it's me who's more paranoid about what could happen that he is!0 -
Without any further information, my guess would be that the "misprint" is that the details on the V5 don't precisely match the car being auctioned. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
