Yes but nedsram said he/she gets it at Tesco every week. There is obviously a reason for this.

Well if you are getting stroppy about it, yes.

There's nothing wrong with shopping around, but if someone is buying the same item week after week at the same shop there's usually a reason for it. Telling them to "shop elsewhere" is not always useful, unless they have not tried to shop elsewhere before, they can actually shop elsewhere, the "elsewere" actually stocks the item and is cheaper than Tesco.

Apologies if I "told" anyone to do anything...it was meant as a suggestion if it's about the money. I can understand if the frustration is about the product or about the store one particularly likes. I get frustrated if products I like get discontinued in a particular shop and there's nothing I can do about it...

I'm another huge fan of cheese, am just not buying it any more (primarily for health reasons but yes, it is costly). The next time I intend to buy it is just after Christmas when stock is seriously RTC. It will then sit in my freezer until such time I allow myself a treat.

  • Get it at Aldi or Heron foods instead. Last time I was in Aldi you could get a big block for I think it was £2.99.

We buy Tesco own label Red Leicester ever week. Then it went "out of stock". Last Thursday had reappeared, with the additional "New" sticker on the shelf. Puzzled as to what was new about it, I checked the labelling. Apparently the strength is now 3 not 2 - although I can't detect any difference in the cheese. The bottom line was on the reverse side. The new weight was 200g, a reduction of 20% from the previous weight of 250g. There was no reduction in price though.

The latest in a series of ruses to deceive the customer and mask stealth price increases. Shame on you Tesco.

Pretty sure the same as Sainsburys they used to be 300g before they dropped to 250g with no change in price then either.
