Travelling overseas with a cat

Hello,
I want to fly to Malaga in Spain from London in May 2014.
I've tried the BA website and it refers me to pet shipping companies, however I want to travel with my cat.
I live locally to Gatwick so we can get a taxi at each end. He has all his vaccinations, Fit To Fly documents, IATA approved carrier, Feliway, etc.
Has anyone travelled with a cat recently and have any useful advice for me, please?
Thank you.

I believe Monarch carry pets, check our their website.

I guess you'd need to Google all the other carriers to see if they do the same.0 -
I noticed quite a few pets being carried last year.

Hello,
Thank you both for your help.
I have spoken to Airpets at Gatwick who carry pets for BA. Emma was extremely helpful.
Apparently you need to call BA to book your flight and ensure it carries pets. Then obtain quotes from their partners (on their website) to transport the pet. I have had initial quotes of over £1,000!
The pet will be collected at least 3 hours before the flight, kept in kennels or a cattery, transported in a warm, dark, quiet cargo area, then given back to you around 2 hours after the flight has landed.
The initial quotes are very vague and include every charge possible. I would suggest calling Airpets first to ascertain exactly what BA requires. Then just get a quote for what you need.
Airpets have said that BA will only transport pets in cargo, but other airlines may allow you to transport pets in the cabin as baggage (which is preferable for me). I need to check all airlines that fly in to Malaga and then call them to ask. But Monarch were specifically recommended and I am waiting for them to respond to my email.
I will update this post with my findings and I hope it helps others too.0
