Direct Debit problem with 1899/18866/18185

Around three weeks ago I had an email from 18866 saying my bank had declined payment from being taken out for the latest invoice. I went to my bank and they said they don't/can't decline direct debits, as it is the company themselves who take it out and not themselves. Because it was a while since that account had been used, (like most on here I have swapped around every time it has gone up a penny) apparently it was dormant, so the clerk reactivated it. I emailed 18866 explaining that this was probably the reason. Thinking everything would be okay, I then got another email saying payment had still not been taken (declined again) and to login to find another way of payment. This time I checked the Direct Debit, and re-did it just in case it was something to do with the dormant 18866 account and waited. Today I have had the same email yet again saying payment declined, etc. Out of interest, something made me check my 1899/18185 accounts and sure enough, flagged up in red was the same sort of message. What on earth do I do? The bank say they can't pay them as the company take it out. The company say the bank keep declining it, so other than try to change it back to a credit card I don't know what to do. I have emailed them to ask their advice but have only been getting these "we can't take the money out" type emails. Help!

    I had a similar problem with 18866 at the end of last week. Thankfully, Heinz on these boards gave me the account details to transfer money to. Find it here:

    Although the account details are for 1899, I have just had confirmation today that my 18866 account has been credited! :beer: to Heinz.

    My e-mail from 18866 said that the payment had been declined, but it was an account that I'd had from my previous house and they hadn't billed me for 21 months! Luckily, it's all sorted now, but I think that my previous details were from a debit card in my maiden name!!!

    I changed my 18185 account from my credit card to direct debit a couple of days ago won't know what happens until my next very small payment is due.Will let you know how it goes.

    I have given that a try. At first my bank when doing a search said it couldn't find the company. So I then chose the option to do it as if paying to a person, which gave me the option to put the details in. Will wait 3 or four days and check if it has gone through. I won't do the others unless I have the same sort of email. Will report back if it has all gone through smoothly.
