Look at your router logs, you should see a rejection

The weird thing is that I have 2 separate connection attempts at the same time
I will try turning off the sky box to see which disappears !!
I wonder why Sky did not make it easier to discover ...

If you know the IP address which should be on the network setting screen of the Sky menu then you an use a windows PC to find the MAC address.

From the start menu use run cmd, from the command screen type Arp -a it will list all of the IP addresses on your network along with their MAC address.

The Sky box's settings show the MAC address, don't they?

Surely you don't need the mac address for the HD box, you are using a wifi connector , it should have it's own mac address, the HD box is only use it's for its ethernet port. Mind you Sky is Sky

Can't see the MAC on my Sky box, only the IP adress which is 192.168.0.5

Begs the question why your router is acting up, as above its the connector you are talking to not the Sky box.
