Halifax Clarity - adding money before spending

Hi All,
I know you are not supposed to add money to a credit card before spending it. However I wondered what happens if you do this?
I'm off on hols soon and have the halfiax clarity card. I wondered if I uploaded £500 on the Friday and then withdrew it when abroad on the Sat if that would work? And then during the holiday do the same again a few more times. So the money wouldn't be sat there for days but equally I wouldn't have to worry about interest charges.
If you've done this successfully can you please let me know - or equally if this has not worked or you've been charged or something it would be great to be aware of this.
Thanks

I wish I'd a pound for every time this question has been asked on here.

It's against your T&Cs (condition 16.9) to pre-load.
They may block the card (they have with others...search the forum), so take a more expensive card with you as well.
The 'saving' in interest for you would be around 83p*. Worth the risk?
* Based on 12.9% APR and paying off the day you return.0 -
Yes this is true i agree with you0

The search function obviously isn't working.0 -
You can arrange for your bank to transfer money to your Clarity card at a date in the future. I usually arrange a couple of payments for my hols.0

I have been using my Halifax clarity card for 15months in Australia, and I practically live of it, I even pay for my rent with it! I have only accidently paid interest once (23p, which was a user error and 1 days interest). The current balance is pretty accurate before the transaction clears, so using a mobile app and a nearby WiFi connection you can send the money to the card immediately (add about 2% onto the pending balance). I have never had a problem with doing this and Australia isn’t particular cheap
. This really is probably the best card for traveling anyone could have, saves me a fortune. 0 -
Thanks all so much - I posted from my mobile so couldn't get the search thing to work properly. But thanks for taking time to answer anyway - much appreciated! Setting up payments in advance is a great idea. About to leave for airport so will do that.0
