                    hi everyone.
occasionally my lappy just says no bootable device insert "something" and press any key. it's started doing it loads and i have to turn it off and switch it off again soetimes four or five times before windows will launch.
also, sometimes it will just crash, and a blue screen will flash up saying something about beggining the dump of physical memory

i turn it off and it's fine.
any ideas why it's doing this??
thanks

Sounds like the HD is on it's way out - do a backup NOW, you can try running scan disk - fix all - and that MIGHT help.0

In Windows, click Start - Run - type chkdsk c: /r - OK, and enter Y to the prompt. Reboot the system, which will cause the hard disk to be checked and repaired for errors.0

You should see a light blue screen like this:

If not, it probably confirms that the disk is failing (and the BSOD in your last message also points to that), in which case you might be able to recover the data on it using a rescue CD or Knoppix - see http://www.shockfamily.net/cedric/knoppix/0 -

although it could be as simple as the pins coming loose i was told, if you have laptop open the part where the hard drive is and check its not came loose.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0
