Independent Holiday Advertisment Sites

Has anyone else had a problem with a holiday property booked through an Independent site. We did. The photos and descriptions are placed by the owners. The property we booked looked lovely but this was not so when we got there. Don't believe everything you read or see. I personally would never book through an Independent site again unless the properties have been reviewed.

Have booked many homes through Independent holiday sites, here and abroad, Havent been on a package holiday in over 15 years.

Have never had an issue, usually look for the UK based owners, just for ease of payment and have never been disappointed. In Fact mostly homes look better than the pictures I saw in the first place.

Quite wrong to tar everyone with the same brush IMO.

Maybe I shouldn't tar everyone with the same brush but when your first experience is a bad one its hard not to. The property we booked was dirty throughout with dirty towels and bed linen, badly stained quilts, broken beds and furniture and not even one sheet of toilet paper despite there being 8 bathrooms in the property.

not had a problem either, although seen loads of dodgy properties on such sites - question really is was it as described

The one we stayed in was definitely not as shown or described and I have the photos to prove it. The bathroom shown and described on the site does not even exist in the property.
