Hi all,
I'm looking for some help putting a sound clip from a You Tube video into a Powerpoint I am making.
I'm not fussed about having the video, in fact I'd prefer it if I didn't, just the sound.
Any ideas how I would go about that?
Thanks

Just use something like Audacity to record the sound and trim/edit/save it.
Or post the video link into a site like http://www.listentoyoutube.com/ to download an mp3 of the video.

IIRC, Youtube prevents downloading of content but as I have a dodgy broadband connection, I use a download manager....it's almost like being back in the 56k modem days.

http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/
Anyway, this allows me to download videos from youtube and by right-clicking on the file, I can use another programme I use, dbpoweramp, to rip the audio from the video track.
I guess this is a rather long-winded way to rip audio from youtube and hopefully someone will have figured out a simpler way.
EDIT: Beaten to it by EchoLocation.100% debt free

This is a good Firefox addon that allows you to download youtube vids or just the audio

Oh jings this is all sounding very complex.
I should have mentioned I am using a MAC - does this make a difference? Also, can I save this clip onto a pen drive and it will still work if I transfer to another laptop?
Thanks again

In that case you could also use the Audio record function in QuickTime... http://www.mactip.net/how-to-record-sound-on-a-mac/hieveryone wrote: »Also, can I save this clip onto a pen drive and it will still work if I transfer to another laptop?
Yes, and Yes.
If it's a fairly short clip save it as a .wav file.0 -
Oh dear, I managed to completely mess it up. Mac got something called Genieo installed and it messed up royally

If anyone is bored of a Friday evening and wishes to do this for me and email it over I would be eternally grateful!
