I'd always try and help out a stray if I can, just this is only really the second one I've ever had to help out, I have searched on the internet symptoms of dehydration in cats, so I know what to look out for in the future.

The first stray we helped out used to live in a greenhouse, and when we took it in it was so mucky at first we though it was a boy and named it Gary, turned out to be a girl but the name stuck with her :) we thought she was only going to last a couple weeks, but lived for two years, and died a happy looked after girl.

awwww - but at least he died knowing that humans were caring about him. I expect he knew the end was near and found himself a human he sensed would 'do right by him'.

Well done for what you did for the old gent.

You are a truly caring person. He would have suffered so much if just left.Thank goodness you acted so quickly,if only others would do the same. The end result is not sad,he is no longer suffering and that is what we,and vets ,can do for them,as a kindness.
  • Cats ahoy, couldn't read and run. Just wanted to say a heart felt thank you for helping this cat in his time of need. If you hadn't he could possibly suffered a long and horrible death. You deserve a medal xxx
  • How sad cats ahoy, was so kind and caring of you to do all you did xx
