2006 mrk 5 VW gold query

Hello,

Im thinking about getting a new car and I want to do some detailed research for this car as my last two have been a nightmare

Im looking at getting and 2006 VW Golf 2.0 GT TDI 5DR...

Has anyone had one of these people? Are they known for going wrong? Any common faults with them?

I wouldn't say 2006 is a new car, at 8 years old, of course it's going to require compnents replacing every now and then, they are good for many milesso it depends on your driving pattern and the intial state of the car you are considering.

Make sure it is 2006 or later, earlier , up to late 2005 the BKD engine had a known and well recorded fault in the oil pump drive which was destined to let go at about 65K wrecking the engine.

The rest of my original reply remains, I sold my MK5 2005 but I kept it in the best condition I could from new, it was probably just run in at 72000 miles, however some guys get cars mod them, thrash them and bash them .
