Another Elected Representative On The Ball

I have just seen this on the anti-PE FB page:-
YOUR Member of Parliament, (or devolved government member) is the most authoritative person to champion the cause for fairness and transparency in all matters of UK civil-process. Write and ask your representative to raise concerns, direct with the DVLA. in respect of ANPR systems and their complicity in ongoing breaches of confidentiality of citizen personal details.
Here's what one, very senior elected representative (Welsh Government, Assembly Member) has sent to the Driver & Vehicle License Agency (DVLA) 04/04/2014 and copied to me today.
To: dvlaministerials@dvla.gsi.gov.uk
Dear Sirs,
A constituent who is concerned about access by private companies to personal details of vehicle owners held by the DVLA has asked me to represent the case to you that the DVLA must put an end to the practice of making private citizens personal contact data available to anyone other than the police or our security services.
In his correspondence to me, my constituent has stated that “shoppers are being coerced into parting with significant sums of money on the basis of trumped-up charges of breach of parking contract….
I am concerned when private companies use the data they harvest from car parks for the sole purpose of victimising members of the public and issuing illegal and threatening invoices on the basis of alleged breaches of contract. This is a wide spread racket and an abuse of personal data by the DVLA which I hope you might help expose”.
I would therefore be grateful if you could give this your attention and confirm your intended course of action.
Yours sincerely
NNNNNNNNN Assembly Member

My MP has already written and the reply from DVLA was unsatisfactory. I believe that Valiant has taken up the baton. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

That's good though, a strong effort.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
