Kitchen worktop-online sellers?

Options
I need a new kitchen worktop and like the look of the solid wood ones. Went to Homebase today and 3m costs around £750, Wickes cost about £500. Looking online there are loads of sellers who appear to be offering a similar product for about £200. This seems a bit too good to be true so I'm wondering if anyone else has purchased worktops online, and what their thought are.
Many thanks,
Dawn.

be warned that solid wood looks good but needs oiling every month which is a pain when you have to take everything off of it.

Really? We had a solid wood counter for years and never once (to my knowledge) oiled it. But even at once a month I wouldn't consider that a massive issue.

I would ensure that if you are buying online OP, that you check out any and all reviews of the company and the product and see if it's a viable option.

Also be sure that the £200 worktops are actually solid!

Hubby works for a kitchen company and they give customers a how to care for wood leaflet and a bottle of oil because all uncoated solid wood tops should be oiled to stop the wood drying out and to stay looking nice.

Clearly those £200 could be anything but not solid, lol.
Anyway have you checked Wood Worktops? I've no personal experience with them but heard a lot about them. And as Sarah said, it's true you will have to work a little hard to keep it glossy.

Ordered 2 x 3m oak worktops-£145 each + £40 delivery from worktopexpress. Arrived yesterday. They are great-extremely solid and heavy (112kg each). Very, very pleased.
