The Youview box receives it's TV channels through the aerial. Catch up and on demand services are provided via an internet connection. So the answer is Maplins gave you the correct information.Hi a guy in Maplins said that I did nt have to use powerline adapters with my youview box if I only used it to watch tv or record, only if I need on demand etc is this right please.

However, if you want to use the catchup service there are some cheaper places to buy the powerline adapters than Maplins.
For example Currys have some for £25

I would question the reliability of the cheaper home plugs..0

The Maplin guy is correct. Ignore espresso he's had too many coffees today;)0

Why did you buy a Youview box when you obviously don't understand what Youview offers!
Actually I've got the power link plugs in at the moment but I've been having trouble with our internet dropping and was trying to find out if maybe there was too much attached to the router. This guy said they weren t needed as above so I could try one of the ethernet cables out of it in the router and the pc to see if that helps. All I needed was a yes or no answer.0
