Barclaycard Refusal

Options
Good afternoon everyone

I hope you are all well!

I hope you don't mind me asking a quick question. I've had a Barclaycard since 2003 ( this was my first ever experience of credit), the card wasn't used for quite a few years between then and now, but when I started using it again a couple of years ago I noticed they were adding ppi onto the balance each month. I called them and asked for it to be removed as it's not something I recall ever asking for as I've always been employed and plus my parents would always assist with anything like this should I find myself unable to pay.

Anyway I decided to phone Barclaycard and the chap said yes I've had ppi on the account since 2003 so I requested a claim form. Received it, completed it and I've just had a response saying they are declining my claim due to me applying for the card via post so I would read info etc relating to it. Obviously it has been so long that I have no idea if what they are saying is true or not.

Would you persevere via the ombudsman or not bother, as I don't have proof and feel like I'm wasting my time?

Thanks in advance
X

If you applied by postal application, then this is deemed to be mis-bought if the insurance was not suitable. It can hardly be mis-sold since no one sold it to you.

The only way you could challenge the truth of what they say would be if you had evidence to disprove what they say. You can hardly call them liars if you have no memory of the circumstance of the sale!
