Gave up yesterday but 120 moves today - Woohoo0
-
I've solved it twice now (118, 120), but it won't let me enter the @ symbol in my email address, it puts a " instead. Anybody know how I can get it to do the '@'? If I try and submit it without it says my email address is invalid.
cheers m'dears
hs...nothing to see here...0 -
Have you gone US on your keyboard, the @ is somewhere else now, might be on the 2 instead of the ". Otherwise you will have to go looking for it0

Bingo, it was on the " instead. Thanks for that....nothing to see here...0

Did it in 46
I couldn't work with the picture so I did a screen grab of the starting position, printed it out, turned the squares into letters A, B, C etc. and worked it out from there.
The starting position changes when you click RESTART GAME so a lot depends on how scrambled things are when you start.
Then it was time to get serious.
It's such a common type of puzzle there had to be software somewhere to solve it so first I tracked that down. Then after a few clicks of RESTART GAME it seems there are only 6 different starting positions. According to the software the smallest number of moves for solving the puzzle from those six start positions ranges from 32 to 42.
If you want to do it in 32 moves click RESTART GAME until the top left corner piece is in the right position then use the following sequence....
DRDRURULLD
LURDDLURRU
LDDRURULDL
LU
Where 'D' means slide a tile DOWN into the empty space, 'R' means slide to the right, 'L' to the left and 'U' slide a tile UP.
I don't smoke and don't want the tent, I just like puzzles
Can I just say thats really good and now hopefully everyone on here will be in with a chance of winning!
