Nuisance Calls after a car accident - PLEASE ADVISE

Hi all
I hope you will be able to advise me on what I can do about a large number of nuisance compensation calls after a car accident claim.
My car was parked unattended in a residential street over night and was involved in a car accident.
Two cars collided and hit another parked car; this parked car hit the back of my car, but no-one was in my car at the time.
I claimed through my insurance and as far as I was concerned the incident had been dealt with.
After the claim had been finalised, I began receiving calls from unknown companies asking if I had been hurt in the accident. I explained that I was not in the car at the time and did not incur any injuries.
This has been going on for about a year and a half; I was told that there was money earmarked for me to claim in compensation for any stress or injuries incurred, even though I did explain there was none the company told me that until I claim this money my contact details would not be removed from the databases and I would continue to receive calls. So under duress I agreed to complete the application and the company are visiting me soon. I was assured that it was a quick process and I was told how to answer questions relating to the injuries/stress so the compensation can be actioned by the solicitors. I have received a letter today from the solicitors explaining details. I am worried about this and did not know how else to stop these calls. Should I carry on with this?
I wanted to ask if anyone else has had this problem and what they advise me to do. The solicitors are coming to see me in the next couple of weeks and I am worried that I have already explained to my insurance company that I was not in the car at the time and they are convincing me that no medical evidence is necessary and I will only have to sign and date a release form.
Please can someone either:
Advise me what to do
How to stop these calls
If I am entitled to this money regardless of what happened in the accident
Thank you

You are only entitled to compensation if you did suffer any illness or injury as a result of the collision.
This looks unlikely!
If the above is correct then cancel your appointment and put the phone down on any future calls you get.
They have 3 years to make a claim for injury so these calls will stop in less than 2 years0 -
try the blocking cold calling services such as Silentcall (free) and TPS online (also free) for two.
Then see if you can get Caller ID (if you call your provider and explain the circumatsnces they might chuck it in for free - BT charge a couple of quid a month) - then at least you can ignore International and Number Witheld calls.
BT's advice is pretty good actually, and they will give you BT provacy for free if you re-sign a 12m contract;
You can register with the Telephone Preference Service by signing up for BT Privacy at www.bt.com/callingfeatures. We also offer BT Privacy with Caller Display which allows you to see the number of the person who’s calling. BT Privacy with Caller Display costs £1.75 a month, but you can sign up to get it free for a year at https://www.bt.com/myfeatures (a new 12-month line rental contract applies).
Other calling features that could help:- Anonymous Call Reject - lets you block calls from withheld numbers
- Ex-directory - take your number off the telephone directory
Apparently my boiler can be replaced for free (EVERY DAY AT 3.30PM) even though its only 2 years old!!I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing!
Quidco and Topcashback, £4,569
Shopandscan, £2,840
Tesco Double The Difference, £2,700
Thomson EU261/04 Claim, £1,700
British Airways EU261/04 Claim, EUR12000 -

Ignore the calls or answer them and have a laugh with them - a little unfair as ultimately the poor people making the calls are minimum wage with a nasty job and not their fault what their employer does.
You can register with TPS etc but many of these are now off shore and so pretty much cannot be stopped short of blocking their number and not answer unknown/unidentified numbers but that probably will also block calls you do want.
No, 99% of the time they dont know about any accident. They use common questioning techniques that make you think they do when in reality it is pure fishing.0 -
You do not have to agree to this company visiting you. Cancel the appointment.
If you have suffered no injury or loss regarding the accident I can't see what could be claimed for.
If they tell you that they cannot remove your details from their database until you claim then I would say this is a blatent lie You can refuse future contact from any UK company and they must comply (but it might take a little while for your details to be rmoved).
Register with http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/index.html
When these unsolicitated calls arrive, get the name of the company, tell them that you don't want any future contact & to remove your details from their lists.
If any companies persist in calling you you can report them.

why cancel the appointment, just dont be in when they arrive - Id certainly be happy to waste their peoples time like they're wasting mine.
or even better let them in, lock the door behind them and undress yourself. that would probably freak them out a tad.0 -
That is alot of information thank you so much0

Wanted to thank you all for your replies - I have called the CAB and they put me onto the Information Commission Office to see who my insurance company gave the information to.
No-one had any definite way of dealing with this - scarey when you think that information is that easily distributed.
Worryingly I have received a letter from a solicitors regarding the No Win No Fee action they are undertaking on my behalf - with a clause that by stopping the action I will be liable for the costs - surely this has not been officially agreed as yet, since I need to sign something to confirm my agreement to their terms etc???
What a nightmare - what I can not believe is that I am powerless to stop this from happening and also how many people actually claim for fictitious injuries (the guy did say that people did that when they are involved in an accident) ...0 -
Whats the name of the solicitors firm?0

You do need to cancel the appointment you agreed to and ensure that you haven't (unwittingly) given your instructions for them to act on your behalf.
Once they discover you weren't in the vehicle and have no illness or injury they will (or should unless they are completely bent) drop you!0 -
