Morning All,
I hope someone can help me out, I'm a bit of a gardening novice...
I've recently taken it upon myself to improve my gardening skills. Over the last few weekends I've cleared my garden, prepared the beds for planting and generally given it a tidy up.
At the back of the garden was a heavily overgrown mass of brambles and tree cuttings which I've cleared away leaving a fairly large area of soil.
I was planning on turfing it, but decided grass seed was a more MSE way to go. However I sowed the seed about 2 weeks ago and there doesnt seem to be much activity. Am I doing something wrong, or does anyone have any tips?
I've watered it every day (except days when it's rained), and gently raked the ground after sowing the seed to roll it into the soil. Is it worth using a feed or am I being too impatient??
Thanks

One question when you cleared the brambles away did you dig the roots up? Not that that would stop the grass seed from growing, anyhow birds and mice like grass seed so have you covered it up to stop the birds and if you have do you have any resident mice? If the area isn't that big it shouldn't cost too much to turf.0

I also seeded a new part of the garden two weeks ago, and no sign of any grass yet.
I put it down to week one being too cold. Either that or not talking to it enough0 -
You need to water it to enable the seed to germinate, then it shouldnt be too long before it starts to grow......0

I put some grass seed down about 3 weeks ago and its coming through nicely now0
