I have good credit and never been turned down for anything but I applied for a credit card and saw a better one so now I want to go for that but will it effect my credit rating or will I been denied and it's in the same month ?

Having 2 credit applications in a month is unlikely to be a reason for a potential lender to decline you.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

Applying for two things in one month isn't going to affect anything I don't think. The more you apply for in a short space of time, the more of a risk you have of looking desperate to lenders.0

I have a similar question so thought I'd add it to this thread! We have just put a mortgage application in, it has been initially approved and is now in process - would it be silly to now apply for a new credit card? Just as the Santander cashback deal will be very helpful for all the furniture we're going to have to buy for the new house! But I have also heard that too many applications in a short space of time is a bad idea...0

Generally its advised never to apply for any credit products at all between a mortgage offer and completion of the purchase. There is always a small chance applying for new credit could cause the mortgage company to withdraw the mortgage offer.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks for that! Will just have to see what Quidco can offer us instead then...0
