Hi All

My computer has been very very sluggish over the last couple of days. I have carried alot of the instructions on the "slow computer sticky".

It has improved the speed but I would like if someone could have a look a my hijackthis log to see what else might be amiss. I have had to change any listing with system32 to system 32 to allow the log to be posted on the forum.

Thanks in advance.

backup and factory restore works best on vista.

but you've got superantispyware, tomtom, google update, steam, skype updater, adaware, amazon music, bonjour helper, realplayer going on.

and it may need a reboot to finish the malwarebytes cleanup

tick and fix the O16's and file missings

Thank you Closed, I have done what you have suggested with the log fixes but I am not sure why the others mentioned programs are showing (superantispyware, tomtom, google update, steam, skype updater, adaware, amazon music, bonjour helper, realplayer).
I have previously diabled automatic start in services for steam, tomtom and google update on services.

What should I do to stop these items showing. I have restarted the computer since the malwarebyte cleanup but the above are still showing on any new log.

if you don't need any of those mentioned, uninstall them

alternatively they can be disabled by using msconfig, or services.msc or hijackthis

as mentioned, reinstall/factory restore always works best.

    post a new log

Thanks Closed, I will look at a factory restore when I have time next week, away for a few days over the weekend and just wanted to make sure kids can use the computer, otherwise all hell could break loose for their nan :)

    Thanks again
