I use Double Velvet, which I can get from several cheapy shops (Semi Chem, Poundstretcher, Home Bargains, Savers etc) for around £3 for 9 rolls, or £2 for 6 rolls. It lasts way longer than Andrex because it's thicker and you need less. I rarely pay more than 50p per roll, and never buy toilet roll in Tesco!

Also, flatten the roll slightly before putting on the holder (or top of the loo, in our case). Makes it less easy to pull loads off!

There's four of us and we probably go through 2-3 loo rolls a week. The 9-pack lasts nearly a month!

If you have access to Makro they regularly cycle Cushelle 24 (sometimes 32) packs on Bogof at around £10 - can't remember if vat applies for toilet roll though.

I stock up on the Cushelle 24 roll packs when Lidl's have them on offer (about every 4-6 weeks) for £7.49.
They're lovely and thick and soft. We used to use Andrex, but the quality dropped, so changed to Cushelle.

I agree with the others about the amount you're going through. There are 6 adults in this house. Since my radiotherapy, I have bladder and bowel problems, so I tend to use a fair bit, but we still only get through 1 roll a day.

Has anyone found a great deal on toilet rolls that are still very good quality?

We used to buy andrex (on average approx 9 rolls for £4.50) but they were expensive and then we found asda shades, a pack of 24 for £8. I find these to be slightly thicker and last slightly longer than andrex. Sometimes we buy tesco 9 pack of luxury toilet rolls if they have been reduced to £3.

We have also tried toilet rolls from B&M and poundland but were false economy as they were so thin.

Has anyone found any packs that are better value than the 24 asda shades pack for £8? So I would say on average, it costs us approx £10 a month for toilet rolls but I would love to get this figure down, if possible, without the quality going down.

We go through about 1 a day for a household of 2. I also saw in a magazine about a family of about 15 who only went through about 2 a week. God knows how they did it!

A roll a day, estimating a roll has an average of 160 sheets per roll, is a lot of loo roll for 2, per day. Is somebody unwell in the household? or just excessive in their use?

Perhaps to save, but will require storage is coreless toilet roll, although methinks that more paper will encourage more use.

You will have to shop around, go for 2 ply instead of 3, perhaps get together with a friend/family and see if buying in bulk may save in the long run.:):)

If you know someone who is a Costco member or fancy joining yourself they have regular deals on Cushelle or Double Velvet at about £11 for 40 rolls.
