Toilet Rolls

Has anyone found a great deal on toilet rolls that are still very good quality?
We used to buy andrex (on average approx 9 rolls for £4.50) but they were expensive and then we found asda shades, a pack of 24 for £8. I find these to be slightly thicker and last slightly longer than andrex. Sometimes we buy tesco 9 pack of luxury toilet rolls if they have been reduced to £3.
We have also tried toilet rolls from B&M and poundland but were false economy as they were so thin.
Has anyone found any packs that are better value than the 24 asda shades pack for £8? So I would say on average, it costs us approx £10 a month for toilet rolls but I would love to get this figure down, if possible, without the quality going down.
We go through about 1 a day for a household of 2. I also saw in a magazine about a family of about 15 who only went through about 2 a week. God knows how they did it!

You go through a whole roll per day? Yikes! Do you both have dodgy tummies? If not, look at how much you're using each time. If you're using good quality paper, you should only need about three sheets for a wee. I can usually make a roll last about a week and I have ibs...0

For me Nicky is much better quality maybe not as good as it used to be (used to be even thicker and fragranced) but 3-ply and quilted and less than £4 for 18.pinkpansies wrote: »We go through about 1 a day for a household of 2.0 -
Is there a Nicky type that is unfragranced? I used to get that all the time but I'm going off it now. Just tried the Aldi Saxon (I think) brand they are pretty good, Asda Shades are the best supermarket own brand I've tried0

Blimey you must spend the whole day sitting on the lavvy. My mantra, 2 for a pee 3 for a poo. If you have got a messy bum you are eating the wrong foods. It's a wonder your drains are not blocked using that much.
Sorry can't help you with prices, I buy mine from a wholesaler, five years worth at a time, and I still use them sparingly, as above.

I've just got some from aldi I think it was £1.89 for 9. I find them ok, before this I was using sainsburys £3.50 for 9 I find them to be both of the same quality.
Personally I can't stand fragranced rolls. I. Have tried the nicky ones, but my toilet is low (whatever that means, hubby's description) and they are too thick and bung the toilet up constantly. It's the same with any three ply or quilted including the bigger brands.
We also go through about a roll a day but there's five of us (well four, were not 100% there with the little one yet), the hubby uses a LOT it's a bugbear of mineMummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -
I use the 18 Rolls of Comfy Soft for £3.49 @ Home Bargains. It's fairly soft although I wouldn't say that thick. I also get some of the cheap £1.95? 400 sheet x 6 rolls I think they are from Aldi to use for wiping any misses or splashes. Why waste the better stuff on splashes?0

Try Wilko, if one near you. Regina Softis, 3 ply: currently 9 rolls at £3.00 or Regina Impressions, 3 ply - 16 rolls £6.15. I prefer 3 ply.
Wow!! One roll per day - that is excessive.

I bought a pack of 24 Regina ones at Family Bargains and they cost 5.99 but they do sell out very quickly They must be as good as Andrex as my eldest DD tried them and she shops in waitrose (more money than sense I think
:):))but she said they were good and Waitrose in Maidstone actually sell them as well.Normally you can get 9 rolls for around 2.99.but the larger pack is great value if you can find some

A toilet roll lasts two of us more than a week. I haven't exactly counted. And we aren't weirdly frugal with the stuff. I use three pieces for a wee. You are using too much, way too much if two people are using a roll a day. Those poor trees. The poor environment. Even if you just cut back to using half a roll a day you would cut your usage in halfIf you dont know where you are going... Any road will take you there :rotfl:0
