How to make a shed base using concrete paving slabs?

Evening
I've just bought a small 5x4 shed for our courtyard garden which is crazy paved. I've got six paving slabs I'm hoping to make my shed base from.
I put the shed floor down on the slabs and as expected its v wobbly as the ground isn't level. I have 50kg of sharp sand however I'm not sure whether I should just bed the slabs down on the sand alone or add cement to make it a permanent thing?
Also, the shed is going in the corner of the garden against the fence so will be hard to assemble in situ. Is there anything stopping me building the shed and then lifting it complete onto its base?
Many thanks in advance for any help!!

I woudn't sit the shed straight on the base, get some strong timber say about 4"x2" and level them out and sit the shed up on them off the ground. Say put them at 18" centres.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

My shed is in the corner and assembly was easy all the fixings were inside, 2 people helped me hold the sides while i screwed it together, the roof was put on from inside i then climbed on roof to put on the felt. Being in a corner did not impede with building it.0

I would use the sharp for something else. It will just wash away.
Level the ground using a level. Put slabs on top. Then assemble shed onto level slabs.0 -
Would just sink down in sand over time.. Use cement to get the flags levelled out first, Could then use a timber frame on top of that so that way you are keeping the shed floor further off the ground and away from any surface water [As per SailorSam suggestion]..
Sheds can be quite bulky and difficult to move when assembled so best to have in the right location first - otherwise use rope under the base to help lift the shed into place..0 -
It depends what you are going to use the shed for. As another poster said, and I'm assuming your shed has a wooden floor, a) they are made of crap material and b) they won't survive unsuported.
What you need is to lift the shed of the deck on pressure treated timbers every 16", don't make on outside frame, you want through ventilation, even if it is corner mounted. Screw into these timbers through the floor...
:rotfl:Use the 50kg inside the shed to stop it blowing away:rotfl::A:AI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
This is what i did, made the ground level, put in a weed barrier, put some broken slabs in, bought some pressure treated timber from B&Q, covered it in wood treatment, made it all level, put my shed base down, put the walls up, screwed together job done.

Put the shed on bits of 4" X 4" (fence posts). Any uneveness of the slabs will not be noticed.0

Thankyou all so much for such helpful replies! I really appreciate it
In the end I went the paving slab route and mixed the sharp sand with some cement and levelled the slabs this way, took a while but seems to have done the trick and the cement mix is going off nicely. I'll try and get away without adding any timber cross pieces as its such a small shed and I've spent a fair bit on bits and pieces for it already! Shall report back with my results0 -
For what it costs, a few of these will stop any floor rot - it really is in your interest
You'll have more problems with the roof anyway - the felt supplied on these things nowadays is paper thin
Very true - if the roof leaks and the shed is on the slabs it will sit in a puddle - if the shed is sitting on timber the water will have a chance to run out of the shed and away.0
