hi just wondered if someone out there can point me in the right direction? do I still need mortgage payment protection insurance? I have been paying £70 pm for the last 12yrs and its up for renewal again. I work for the nhs and have done so for the last seven years, work provides me with sick pay which is 6mths full pay and 6mths half pay?
Halifax have always said that it gives me peace of mind etc. etc. but things are pretty tight at the moment and I just wondered if its better to have??
thanks for your time.

That depends on your personal finances and needs. If you have the savings available to cover a claimable event then you could get rid of it. However, if you dont you would then be taking risks. Risk assessment is a personal thing. Some may say look to other things with that £70. Others will say stick with it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
