Ikea - help!!

I bought a leather sofa a year ago. I still have all receipts etc.
The surface leather has 'worn off' after just one year. I had my previous sofa for over 10 years with no such problem and it was subjected to the same use.
I contacted the support center, they organised a report, which, to be fair was completed quickly and efficiently. After this they told me it was 'wear and tear' and they are refusing to accept any liability whatsoever.
It has not been subjected to anything other than 'bums on it watching telly'. Surely it should not wear out so quickly. As I said I've had other sofas over the years and none of them have had a problem like this.
IKEA have told me I will have to pay for another report of my own before they will review their decision. Has anyone ever done this? Did it help? Anybody know of someone who can do this in North West England?
I am so disappointed with it, feel like I've wasted £1600! I thought I was buying something that I would get years of happy use from.

If it past a certain time, you will need to get an independent report to show that it is inherently faulty.0

And if an independent report confirms that it is indeed inherently faulty, you will receive the money that you paid for the report back.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
